Planned traffic changes
Maintenance and improvement work on the railways in the Stockholm-Mälaren region may cause parts of the railway network to be fully or partially closed at various times. Below, we list the larger upcoming track works that will affect Mälartåg's train services. The information may be updated, as we continuously work on reviewing existing plans and developing new documentation for future track work.

September
Södertälje Syd Upper
During the weekend of September 28 and 29, no trains will stop at Södertälje Syd Upper, but will be rerouted via the commuter station Södertälje Syd Lower and Södertälje Hamn. The departure times have been changed, which you can see and purchase as usual in our app or here on the website.
Period: Saturday and Sunday, September 28-29. (entire traffic days)
Affected routes:
- Norrköping – Nyköping – Stockholm
- Örebro – Eskilstuna – Stockholm – Uppsala
- Hallsberg – Vingåker – Katrineholm – Stockholm
October
Nykvarn-Eskilstuna/Arboga
During the weekend of October 12-13, trains between Nykvarn and Eskilstuna/Arboga, in both directions, are cancelled and replaced by buses.
Period: Saturday and Sunday, October 12-13.
Affected lines:
- Örebro – Eskilstuna – Stockholm – Uppsala
